New Home & Old Friends

Hello Old Friends! Back in July my husband and I bought our first home in St. Albans, Vermont. It's a beautiful home with a nice backyard, quiet neighbors, and a lot of potential for extensive gardens. I have a dedicated and lovely art room that I have been slowly unpacking and decorating. Nesting has been a wonderful experience, but it has kept me from my art and Etsy and this blog for quite some time.

I hope in the coming weeks to do more posting and begin creating again in earnest. In the meantime, enjoy some pictures from Killkare State Park. My husband and I went on an adventure this weekend - on a particularly lovely day. There were so many beautiful textures: shale, moss, acorns, lichens, shells. I switched my camera into Macro mode, and laid down in the grass to see the world from a mouse's perspective.

And here's a picture of our new home:

I'll be back soon with new art updates and the relaunch of my Etsy shop!

Comments

  1. I found your etsy shop which led me to your blog, which I read in its entirety. I feel stalker-ish, BUT I'm not! I really enjoy your work and writing. I want to start needle felting but I don't consider myself an artist. I made a flock of sheep, I'm good at following directions but I don't know how creative I am to start my own style. All your work has style. I wanted to ask about your wool of choice. I don't know if you are responding to etsy convos or on hiatus. I hope we can talk. Thanks, Marianne

100 Sales & Giveaway

I am so grateful to announce that my little Etsy shop has reached 100 sales!!! I originally opened my shop in 2006 to sell paintings of birds on wires, but reinvented myself this past year. I listed the first 20 needle felted items on March 2nd. Since then, I've received so much positive feedback, made so many friends, and have grown my art immensely (go take a look at the first few listings!) In celebration of the first 100 sales, I'm offering a giveaway! The giveaway prize is the Plumpie that started it all - featured on the Etsy Finds blog and the item that generated the first wave of real interest in my shop - the sitting fox . I will make you one of your own, but you can see an example below: To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment with your contact information. One entry per person. The giveaway ends November 26th at 8:00 pm EST , with the drawing on November 27th. I'll announce the winner on Saturday, November 27th.

Shop Update!
