Inspiration

Oof...life can be complicated, eh?

I've received a few private messages asking about my art/shop/life and I thought I'd do a quick update. I know the holidays are coming and this could be a wonderful time for my shop. I think there a few reasons I've been on an art hiatus lately, mostly due to personal events in my life and helping my best friend get ready for her wedding (which was this past Saturday). I've had a few health issues that I'm attending to, and at the end of the day, I've been relishing going to bed really early.

I'm currently smack dab in the middle of a large commission, a small commission, an even smaller commission, and another large commission due around Christmas. Mystery mystery! However, I do have a few creatures waiting to be photographed - a bear, a giraffe, and a sleeping fox. I'm hoping for ten minutes of sunshine to get good shots of my little friends, and listings should be forthcoming.

I hope you are all smiling and doing well and I hope to be more active now that my weekends are freed up a bit!

Anyone else having trouble with inspiration?

  1. Take care Abigail, it will all get done in time. I'm excited to hear you are working on commissions...and yes very curious too.

Looking forward to your new listings, it's always a treat to see what you hands make next.

  2. Hi, I'm a recent fan of your beautiful work and I keep checking back because my son loves foxes and I'm hoping I can buy one from you soon. Meanwhile, continue to take care of yourself and know that readers can be patient!

Sending you smiles... you always make us smile!
I have non-creative times~ usually the during the most beautiful weather and the cold, dark... damp weather. One because I don't want to be indoors and the other because light (lack of)is so important. Seems like that describes the weather in our little corner lately :)

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week & that your special orders are bringing you joy!

100 Sales & Giveaway

I am so grateful to announce that my little Etsy shop has reached 100 sales!!! I originally opened my shop in 2006 to sell paintings of birds on wires, but reinvented myself this past year. I listed the first 20 needle felted items on March 2nd. Since then, I've received so much positive feedback, made so many friends, and have grown my art immensely (go take a look at the first few listings!) In celebration of the first 100 sales, I'm offering a giveaway! The giveaway prize is the Plumpie that started it all - featured on the Etsy Finds blog and the item that generated the first wave of real interest in my shop - the sitting fox . I will make you one of your own, but you can see an example below: To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment with your contact information. One entry per person. The giveaway ends November 26th at 8:00 pm EST , with the drawing on November 27th. I'll announce the winner on Saturday, November 27th.

Shop Update!

These new friends are now available in my Woolnimals Etsy Shop ! Free shipping too!
