Shop Update

I just added a lion and a peacock to my Etsy shop.

I never get tired of making these cute, smiling lions.

And this little peacock - which is actually a BIG peacock at about 4" square. I've been working on this peacock since February - it was still snowing when I was felting the green panel. I made this guy in many parts - the last being the addition of the crochet doily before felting all the bits together. The feather panel took the longest amount of time because I had to make a thin, consistent piece of wool out of a ball. The eyes took a long time...okay, everything took a long time, but I'm so thrilled with how he turned out. My husband just adores this Plumpie. I think I'm going to take some time off from larger creatures and work on the minis - which are popular and provide some instant gratification...
Lastly, even though it was a long weekend, it didn't turn out to be the kind of weekend/break I needed. I ended up having to do a lot more than just craft - and it turned out that I had very little time to felt. This was sad and I'm still feeling a little like I may never have the time I need to finish all of my projects. I just wish life would settle down a little. I need a respite.
I hope everyone had a lovely long weekend! I hope you all got in a lot of crafting and fun time. I'm going to take my own advice now and will "keep smiling" until all of the craziness of life passes. I'm sure it'll settle down eventually....

100 Sales & Giveaway

I am so grateful to announce that my little Etsy shop has reached 100 sales!!! I originally opened my shop in 2006 to sell paintings of birds on wires, but reinvented myself this past year. I listed the first 20 needle felted items on March 2nd. Since then, I've received so much positive feedback, made so many friends, and have grown my art immensely (go take a look at the first few listings!) In celebration of the first 100 sales, I'm offering a giveaway! The giveaway prize is the Plumpie that started it all - featured on the Etsy Finds blog and the item that generated the first wave of real interest in my shop - the sitting fox . I will make you one of your own, but you can see an example below: To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment with your contact information. One entry per person. The giveaway ends November 26th at 8:00 pm EST , with the drawing on November 27th. I'll announce the winner on Saturday, November 27th.
