Potatoes With Tusks

I had a cupcake for breakfast. It is my co-worker Sue's birthday today and we all just adore her. The cupcake was exceedingly sugary and delicious and my belly is so happy.

I had a good little cry on the way to work when I saw that my favorite groundhog had been hit by a car and was smooshed in the road. I say hello to him almost every day and clap when I see him. He had a big rusty red chest and was doing a good job on fattening up. I'm really sad about it and angry to have lost a little friend. I will send some love for his little hungry soul out into the universe today.

I just listed a new Plumpie. It's a potato with tusks. I just love vegetables with horns and tusks. No!!!! It's a Walrus. He's pretty cute and he's making me smile on this sad (but cupcake filled) day.

  1. Oh my gosh, how darling. I love your critters. I really want to learn how to do needle felting. I have a kit for some sheep a friend gave me. Sorry about the "smoosh" and glad you could have a cupcake to help.

  2. My hubby had to remove a little fox from the road last week. Like you~ we enjoy critters that have visiting patterns and keep us smiling daily... my mother-in-law suggested we put up temporary speed bumps until the babies can get a little street-smart. Our road is very winding and fast... that would be interesting!

LOVE your little stamp elephant! If I see any little stamp boxes (for low $$) I will get them for you! I have made little ones to go inside tea steeps :D

Hope you have a fun & creative weekend!

100 Sales & Giveaway

I am so grateful to announce that my little Etsy shop has reached 100 sales!!! I originally opened my shop in 2006 to sell paintings of birds on wires, but reinvented myself this past year. I listed the first 20 needle felted items on March 2nd. Since then, I've received so much positive feedback, made so many friends, and have grown my art immensely (go take a look at the first few listings!) In celebration of the first 100 sales, I'm offering a giveaway! The giveaway prize is the Plumpie that started it all - featured on the Etsy Finds blog and the item that generated the first wave of real interest in my shop - the sitting fox . I will make you one of your own, but you can see an example below: To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment with your contact information. One entry per person. The giveaway ends November 26th at 8:00 pm EST , with the drawing on November 27th. I'll announce the winner on Saturday, November 27th.
